Christ Alone

Relying on Jesus means trusting Him in three ways:

- He has saved us by grace

- He is saving us by grace

- He will save us by grace

Some questions to help us see how we might still be relying on ourselves...

- Would you feel more comfortable standing before God on a “good” week or a “bad” week? For example: I didn’t look at pornography this week so I’m a little more confident to worship.

- When you sin – what do you do before you return to God?  Do you try to “clean” yourself up before you go back to Him?

- Do you compare yourself and your level of obedience to others to help you feel secure? “I know I’m a sinner but I’m not as bad as that guy.”

- Is your hope in what Jesus has done or in the sincerity in which you respond to it?

- Does your faith make you feel superior to others  — or very insecure around others. Does sitting in God’s presence sound freeing or exhausting?

- If you contributed nothing to your salvation except for your sin that made the cross necessary — would that comfort you or would it scare you?
